Itinerary Overview
Day 01: Arrival at Rajkot Airport/Railway Station to Dwarka

Meals: On Own
Accommodation: Dwarkadhish Lords Eco Inn

Upon arrival at Rajkot, begin your scenic journey to Dwarka, covering approximately 225 km (5 hours). En route, you can explore the vibrant city of Jamnagar, known for its serene Lakhota Lake, the fascinating Lake Museum, and the revered Hanuman Temple. 

Arrive in Dwarka by the afternoon and check into your hotel. In the evening, visit the iconic Dwarkadhish Temple, a prominent pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Krishna and one of the most significant temples in India. 

After a spiritually enriching experience, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.


Day 02: Dwarka to Somnath

Meals: Breakfast
Accommodation: Lords Inn

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Somnath, a journey of approximately 250 km (6 hours). On the way, make a stop at the Harsiddhi Mata Temple, offering breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea. Visit the Sudama Temple, also known as Sudama Dwarka, and explore the historic Kirti Mandir at Porbandar, if time allows. You may also visit Ghed Madhavpur, famous for the Madhavraiji Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and Lord Balrama. 

Arrive in Somnath by evening and visit the renowned Somnath Temple, a revered Shiva shrine and the first of the 12 Jyotirlinga Temples in India. Also, explore the Triveni Sangam, a sacred confluence of rivers. If the weather permits, enjoy the Light & Sound Show at the temple in the evening. 

Conclude the day with an overnight stay at your hotel.


Day 03: Somnath to Sasan Gir

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Accommodation: Gir Birding Lodge

After breakfast, proceed to Sasan Gir, located approximately 70 km away, a journey of about 2 hours. If time permits, visit the revered Bhalka Teerth en route. 

Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. Spend the evening at leisure, exploring the surroundings and capturing the region's diverse wildlife through your lens. 

Gir is not only famous for its lions but also boasts a rich biodiversity that includes a variety of bird species such as the Crested Tree Swift and Mottled Wood Owl. The dense deciduous forests and open scrublands provide a dramatic backdrop for wildlife photography.

Enjoy a delightful dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
 


Day 04: Sasan Gir

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Accommodation: Gir Birding Lodge

Start your day with an early morning safari in Gir National Park. The best chance to see Asiatic Lions is during these early hours, when they are most active. Your guide will help you track these magnificent creatures, providing insights into their behavior and habitat. Besides lions, you may also spot Leopards, which are relatively common in Gir, along with a variety of herbivores like Chital, Sambar, and Nilgai.

After the morning safari, return to the lodge for breakfast and some relaxation. In the afternoon, take another safari to explore different areas of the park. Gir's diverse ecosystem supports a wide range of bird species, making it a paradise for bird watchers. Look out for the critically endangered White-backed Vulture, the majestic Changeable Hawk-Eagle, and colorful Indian Rollers.

In the evening, there will be a session to review your photographs and discuss the day’s sightings. Your guide will share tips on capturing the best shots and provide information about the park’s flora and fauna. Enjoy a delicious dinner at the lodge, followed by a good night’s sleep.
