Tour Code: #1352The Little Rann of Kutch is a vast saline desert in the Kutch region of Gujarat, western India, which floods during the monsoon and transforms into a unique wetland landscape. Along its edges lie elevated patches of land known as bets, covered with Acacia and hardy shrubs, offering some of the best opportunities to observe smaller bird species of the Rann. Much of this region is protected as the Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary, established in 1972 to conserve the endangered Indian Wild Ass, one of the few remaining wild equine species in the world. In addition to the wild ass, the sanctuary is home to arid-zone wildlife such as the Desert Fox, Desert Cat, and Striped Hyena, while during winter it attracts large numbers of migratory birds, making it a renowned destination for birdwatching and wildlife exploration.
