Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Rajkot / Diu to Gir National Park

Arrive at Rajkot/Diu, you will be met and driven to Sasan Gir. Upon arrival, check in at our wildlife lodge, where nature and comfort blend seamlessly. After settling in, enjoy a sumptuous lunch prepared with fresh, locally inspired flavours. The afternoon is at leisure, inviting you to unwind amidst the serene mango orchard within the resort. You may choose to take gentle nature walks, indulge in birdwatching as colourful species flit through the trees, or capture the beauty of the landscape through photography.

As evening descends, soak in the calm atmosphere of the lodge before gathering for a delicious dinner. The day concludes with a peaceful overnight stay at Gir Birding Lodge, surrounded by the quiet sounds of the forest.
 



Day 02: Sasan Gir to Somnath to Sasan Gir

Begin the day early with an exciting wildlife safari focused on tracking the majestic Asiatic Lion in its natural habitat. The cool morning hours offer the best chance to observe wildlife as the forest comes alive with movement and birdsong. After the safari, return to the resort to relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast.

Later, drive to Somnath (approximately 50 km / 1 hour), one of India’s most sacred pilgrimage destinations. Visit the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of three holy rivers, and pay respects at the revered Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple—believed to be the first among the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva and one of the most significant Shiva temples in the country. Continue on to Bhalka Teerth, the sacred site associated with the final earthly moments of Lord Krishna.

Spend time at the Somnath Temple complex, offering puja and absorbing the spiritual atmosphere by the Arabian Sea. As evening approaches, return to Sasan Gir. The day concludes with dinner at the resort and a comfortable overnight stay, bringing together wildlife, spirituality, and quiet rest.
 



Day 03: Sasan Gir to Diu to Sasan Gir

Begin the day early with another exhilarating wildlife safari in Sasan Gir National Park, the only natural habitat of the majestic Asiatic Lion. Renowned not only for its lions but also as an exceptional birdwatching destination, Gir boasts an impressive checklist of over 250 bird species. The grasslands along the sanctuary’s periphery are home to nearly 50 additional species, including rare and endangered birds such as the Lesser Florican and the graceful Sarus Crane, making the morning safari a rewarding experience for wildlife and nature enthusiasts alike.

After the safari, return to the resort to relax and enjoy a hearty breakfast. In the afternoon, set out for a scenic drive to Diu with a packed lunch (approximately 100 km / 3 hours), an erstwhile Portuguese colony that has evolved into a charming coastal getaway known for its laid-back beaches and colonial heritage. En route, visit a crocodile farm to learn about conservation efforts and observe these fascinating reptiles up close.

Upon reaching Diu, explore some of its most iconic landmarks, including the historic St. Paul’s Church, the Diu Museum, the intriguing Nadia Caves, the INS Khukri Memorial, and the imposing Diu Fort overlooking the sea. Spend time wandering through the local markets, soaking in the blend of Portuguese and Gujarati influences, before heading to the serene Nagoa Beach to enjoy the coastal ambience.

By evening, return to Sasan Gir for dinner at the resort, followed by a comfortable overnight stay, bringing the day to a relaxed and satisfying close.
 



Day 04: Departure

After breakfast, check out from the resort and proceed with your onward return journey. With cherished memories of wildlife encounters, sacred sites, and serene landscapes, the tour comes to a pleasant conclusion. Safe travels ahead.
